The rules for booking on Awning, for businesses listed on it, and for using it through AI assistants.
What Awning is
Awning is a catalogue and booking tool. When you book, your agreement for the service is with the business, not with Awning: the business sets its services, prices, availability and cancellation rules and is responsible for providing the service. Awning does not take payments at present; any deposit or payment is arranged with the business.
Bookings
A time you choose is held for ten minutes while you confirm. A booking is made only after you confirm the time and the price; some businesses confirm requests themselves, and you will see which. Cancel through your booking link or your assistant; the business's cancellation rules, shown before you book, apply.
Using Awning through an AI assistant
When you connect Awning to ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant, the assistant acts on your instructions. It must show you the details and ask you before making or cancelling a booking. You are responsible for what you ask it to do. You can disconnect it at any time.
Accounts
Keep access to your email, Telegram, Google account or passkey safe; anyone who can sign in as you can act as you. Tell us at once if you think someone else has.
Businesses on Awning
- List only a business you run or are authorised to represent, and keep its information accurate: services, prices, hours and cancellation rules.
- Use only photos and texts you have the right to publish. You let Awning show them on your page, in search results and to assistants.
- Honour the bookings you accept and answer requests promptly.
- Every business is reviewed before it goes live. We may decline an application, ask for changes, or suspend a business that misleads customers, breaks these terms or the law.
- Listing is free during the pilot. If that changes, we will tell you in advance and you can leave.
Fair use
Do not make fake or abusive bookings, impersonate a business or a person, try to reach other people's accounts or data, overload the service, or use it to break the law. Public pages may be read by search engines and assistants; private pages may not be accessed without permission.
No guarantees
We work to keep Awning accurate and available, but it is provided as it is. Information about a business comes from that business. To the extent the law allows, Awning is not liable for the services businesses provide or for indirect losses.
